Introduction
In the fast-changing world of software quality assurance, one thing hasn’t changed: the value of strong mentorship. Over the past few years, I’ve had the chance to help shape the next generation of QA engineers through a grassroots initiative that’s quietly building something special in Pakistan.
It started with a volunteer effort. Today, it’s a growing talent engine with real job outcomes. And it’s not just for testers. ETLOnline QA mentorship is also helping developers and coders find their footing through hands-on learning, personalized support, and a clear path to employment.
This is the story of how I mentor, train, and hire through ETLOnline.org. You’ll see what’s worked, what’s growing, and how you can become part of something bigger than just software testing.
ETLOnline’s Vision: Pakistan’s Homegrown Tech Ecosystem
ETLOnline.org was created to solve a simple but urgent problem: there are thousands of talented people in Pakistan who want to break into tech, but they don’t know how to start. Boot camps are expensive. Online courses are too passive. And many have never met someone working in the industry.
So we created a community that builds from the ground up.
Our mission is clear:
- Teach industry skills through hands-on practice
- Pair learners with mentors for 1-on-1 support
- Create job-ready QA engineers, developers, and coders in 90 days
- Grow a tech ecosystem driven by mentorship and community
We’re not just building testers. We’re building future engineers, coders, and mentors across Pakistan.
👨💼 My Journey with ETLOnline: From Batch to Breakthrough
When I first joined ETLOnline as a volunteer, I had one goal: to help freshers land their first QA role. So, I created a QA Bootcamp for interns who are practical, consistent and career-focused.
Here’s what we’ve achieved so far:
- Batch 1: Trained 5 QA interns over 3 months. 3 were hired into real jobs.
- Batch 2: 8 QA interns trained. 2 more joined the workforce.
- Current Batch: I’m mentoring 4 remote QA interns with weekly sessions, assignments, and live bug hunts.
Alongside this, ETLOnline continues to train developers and coders through similar 1-on-1 and batch-based mentorship. From frontend frameworks to backend logic and Git workflows, dev-focused mentees also get personalized training and guidance.
📑 Mentorship at Scale: For QA and Developers
As demand grew, we launched the ETL Mentorship Program to bring structure and scale.
Here’s what makes it work:
- Mentees meet mentors weekly for personalized training
- QA interns get focused testing experience
- Dev mentees get help with projects, code reviews, and roadmap planning
- I manage mentor matching and ongoing support
Today:
- We have 5 active QA mentors
- Developer mentorship is scaling with growing demand
- More mentors are being onboard across multiple tech domains
Whether you’re learning to test, JavaScript, Python, or GitHub workflows, you’ll get real, tailored support from people who’ve walked the path.
💼 Mentorship That Leads to Jobs
Our focus isn’t just on skill-building; it’s about job outcomes. Interns and mentees are getting hired because they:
- Learn from professionals working in the industry
- Practice every day using real projects
- Build portfolios that show what they can do
- Gain confidence to communicate and present their work
Our QA mentees cover:
- Manual, exploratory, and regression testing
- Test case writing and bug reporting
- Tools like Jira, TestRail, and Postman
Our developer mentees focus on:
- HTML, CSS, JS, Python, or full-stack workflows
- Git, GitHub, and collaborative coding practices
- Mini-projects and portfolio websites
The format works across both paths because hands-on learning beats passive tutorials every time.

This is how we’re becoming a trusted grassroots brand in Pakistan’s tech scene.
